For the last 3 ½ years broadcast journalist CJ Hunt and his team have gone “In Search of the Perfect Human Diet.”  An unprecedented global exploration that finds a solution to the #1 killer in America – our growing epidemic of obesity and related chronic diseases, such as diabetes, hypertension and heart disease. This documentary series bypasses common contradictory dietary bias and confusion by filming interviews and explorations with many of the world’s top scientists and researchers in the fields of archaeological science, paleo and forensic anthropology, nutrition and metabolism, biomolecular archaeology, and the emerging field of human dietary evolution - Dr. Eades is one of these experts.

“So, the take-home message from my experience is that if you eat in a restaurant you are going to get a lot of oils that you would probably rather not have. At worst, you’re going to get a load of trans fats; at best, you’re going to throw back plenty of omega-6s. Omega-6 fats are, for the most part, pro-inflammatory, and we get way, way too many of them in our diet as it is. Most of the readers of this blog know how harmful omega-6 fats are in large quantities, so I won’t go in to it here. Suffice it to say, however, that the medical literature is full of articles pointing out the hazards of too many omega-6 fats.

Then there is the American Heart Association that has inexplicably come out in support of omega-6 fats for heart health (Harris, WS), which advice you can put up on your shelf right beside the advice to avoid saturated fats….” (CJ’s emphasis)
